How to be baptized
God's word instructs us to be baptized (immersed in water) as a public declaration of our personal decision to follow Jesus.
Who is Baptism for?
- Everyone who accepts Jesus – “Peter replied, ‘Each one of you must turn from your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.’” Acts 2:38 NLT
- Those who believe – “Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. . . . .” Mark 16:16 NLT
- Anyone 8 years of age and older – We insist on this minimum age to ensure that baptism candidates are old enough to comprehend the significance of baptism.
Baptisms are scheduled approximately every other month. They are conducted during each of the three weekend worship services. Candidates for baptism are required to attend a single baptism class, offered the Sat, Sun, & Wed prior to the event. This class will help each candidate fully understand the purpose of this important ceremony and provide practical details in preparation for the event.
To find out more information about the next baptismal service and class, contact Pastor Doug at 703-368-2895.
How to dedicate your baby
Baby dedications are scheduled during regular weekend services typically on a quarterly basis. Dates are published in the bulletin approximately one month in advance. Contact Colette West at Colette@magchurch.org or 703-368-2895 to register.
How to schedule facilities or an event
If you need to reserve the facility for a MAG ministry event, please work very closely with the ministry's administrative assistant. He or she will handle the room reservation process.
