What is Alpha?

The Alpha Course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith. It's especially for people who are not sure what they believe and who may have no faith background, but are curious to know more.

Alpha is a place where you can ask any question in a safe environment. Nobody is trying to push their beliefs on you.We have dinner together, hear a talk, and then break into small groups for discussion. Anything is fair game!

It's relaxed, non-threatening, low-key, friendly, and fun.

Alpha Courses are held all over the world--in churches, schools, prisons, military bases, and more. In fact, over 13 million people around the world have attended an Alpha Course.

Alpha is a ten-week course, which includes dinner and a talk, followed by a time of small group interaction. There is no cost to attend Alpha; however, near the end of the course, there is a special catered dinner which will cost attendees $18. Listen, learn, discuss, and discover. And ask anything! Alpha is a place where no question is too simple or too hostile.

Who is invited?

Anyone who is interested in learning more about the Christian faith is invited to attend an Alpha Course.

If you have questions like "What is the point of life?", "What happens when we die?", "Who is the Holy Spirit?"', or "What relevance does Jesus have for our lives today?", then Alpha would be a great place for you to discover the answers for yourself in a relaxed environment.

These are the most important questions in the world. Isn't it worth taking 10 evenings (with free dinner and nice people!) to find out the answers for yourself?

When and Where?

The 2011 Fall Alpha Course begins with our "A Taste of Alpha" intro session  Wednesday, September 12, at 6:30 p.m. This meal will let you get a taste (literally) of Alpha to decide if you're interested in signing up for the course. At the end of the session, you will be invited to join us for the nine-week series.

Once you make a decision to sign up for Alpha, plan to attend each week for 9 weeks.

There is no commitment at Alpha, if you sign up and later decide it is not for you, you will be under no obligation to attend.

Where? Alpha takes place at Manassas Assembly of God, 11500 New Life Way, Bristow, VA 20136. Our Alpha staff will meet you in the Foyer (the entrance with the canopy). We hope to see you here!
