Discovering Your Gifts
Do you have a desire to serve but are not sure what area is the best fit for you? MAG offers ministry placement service to "assist believers in the MAG family to be fruitful and fulfilled in responding to Christ's invitation to serve in a meaningful place" (Gal. 5:13). If you want assistance in discovering your unique gifts or in getting plugged into a good ministry fit, download the form below and drop it off in the Spiritual Formation mailbox outside the church office and a placement counselor will connect with you. We also have copies available on the information slat wall in the Administrative wing. For additional information, contact Janette Castro in the Spiritual Formation Department.
The Bible tells us that God has equipped the body of Christ with a variety of gifts and talents in order for the church to be more effective in helping others find and follow Christ. The Bible shows many examples of how he uses ordinary people to accomplish his work of love and grace in this world. We wants his believers to be more than consumers. He wants us to give of ourselves in service to others.
Are you a consumer or a servant?
Do you participate in ministry? Are you part of a ministry team? Do you volunteer? Do you view yourself as a missionary? Are you aware of your ministry giftings and passions?
To help you discover ways to serve others we encourage you to join a full-time or part-time ministry activity. Whether serving within the walls of the church or serving outside the walls of the church, God has a plan for you and wants every believer to find his or her place in ministering to others.
2010 Georgetown South Project
MAG adults and youth joined together with many other faith based organizations for a one-day makeover project in Georgetown South. MAG was in charge of the worship service and distribution of food and refreshments for the army of teen workers. It was a great day.
How Can I Serve?
Lead
We have a long list of ministry leadership positions at MAG. If God has gifted you to be in charge, we need you. Teaching and Leadership positions require an application process, spiritual commitment, and are approved by the pastoral staff.
Join a team
We have a variety of long or short term ministry teams you can be a part of. It takes a small army to provide weekly ministry at MAG and the bulk of support comes from many task-oriented ministry and support teams.
Volunteer
Some people cannot commit to a long term ministry team but want to be placed on a list of volunteers who can use their talents and availability on as "as needed" basis.
Support
Another powerful way to serve is by supporting others with financial contributions, prayer, and encouraging words that can powerfully enable another person to be your hands and feet extended in service.
Where Can I Serve?
Right Where You Are
We believe everyone is a missionary and is called to be salt and light to the world around them. Look for ways to be the love of Christ to those you connect with each day. Look for divine appointments around you.
Our Community
We are constantly looking for ways to touch our community with acts of service and love. Each summer is laced with local service projects that bless this area. Look for them...join the fun. Check the MAG Registration page for different Summer of Service opportunities!
Our Nation
We financially support several US missions efforts and projects. We also organize at least one mission trip in the US supporting a specific need. Keep an eye on the mission trip page for coming trips.
Our World
MAG generously supports over 107 Assemblies of God Missionaries in over 52 countries. Find more details by clicking the World Missions page. We also organize two or three international missions trips each year. Click here for trip details.
