The Stewardship Ministry at Manassas Assembly of God began in the fall of 2004 with a mission to teach people of all ages God's financial principles. Through biblical small groups, budget coaching and seminars, the ministry has been helping families and individuals obtain a financial peace of mind by teaching how to use the money and resources God has provided to better serve Him.

The Small Group Study is a 10 week in-depth study using Crown Financial Ministries curriculum to teach what scripture says about money and possessions. Graduates have confirmed that marriages are strengthened and individuals are finding their way out of debt. They are also becoming consistent savers, generous givers, and prudent consumers. Most importantly, people are entering into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ as they learn to apply His Word. Groups meet for 2 hours every week and include scripture memorization and interactive discussions.

There are four requirements for students participating in this study:

• Daily prayer for each member of your group

• Memorize one assigned scripture each week

• Complete weekly homework assignments-both Bible study and practical application. (approximately 2 hours of homework per week)

• Attend a minimum of 8 of the 10 classes to receive a certificate of completion

Cost is $45 for individual and $55 for couples.

Classes are filled for the fall semester. The next semester will begin in March with details on registration and class orientation posted in the beginning of 2009. Manassas Assembly of God has a group of certified budget coaches available for confidential personal budget coaching. Our coaches are volunteers who have completed our in-depth budget coach training and desire to assist God's people in setting up a budget and learning how to honor the Lord with their finances. There is no fee for this service. You may be given the option of purchasing material that will enhance your study of godly stewardship, but you are under no obligation to purchase anything or to study. Topics like investing, insurance, planning your financial future, and other related areas will help you understand what the Bible teaches about wise stewardship of God's blessings.
